Meet Katie
Katie is the lead in the TRYPS show this season - The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! She plays Grace Bradley, a poor 50's house wife who gets roped into directing the church's Christmas Pageant. TRYPS is a student theater organization that Katie has been working with since she was much younger. She's a senior in high school now so we'll have to wait and see where her love of acting takes her...

Valley Stampede
The only home Missouri Valley College rodeo took place over the weekend of September 11-13, 2008. The team has to set up the arena at the Saline County Fairgrounds, provide livestock, compete, and still tear down when all is said and done. The Men's team finished 1st overall this year, and the women's team finished 2nd.
Despite dreary conditions including rain and mud, Rachel Slatton still competed in the barrel racing event on Thursday night pushing her horse into first place in her round.
James Earl Carter, a junior at Missouri Valley College, finished 8th in Bull Riding at the MVC Stampede over the weekend of September 11-13, 2008. Carter also finished 4th in the Men’s All-around, and 1st in Bareback riding.
Sean Beachy ends up on crutches Thursday evening after injuring himself in the Bronco Riding event shown above.

Final Staff Project
This is the link to my final project that I spent this semester working on. I have several more things that I would like to do regarding my wonderful subject and her life and family. So here is a start, please let me know what you think. I will warn you, there was a birth involved, and some of those photos are included. They are not extreme in any sense, but consider yourself warned.
Thank you so much to DeeDee and her family, Marrisa and John, Dr. Allemann, the Community Birth Center, and to Gracie Rose who was the last piece to the puzzle.

I do plan on posting more photos from the story later, but this should give you an idea and get the ball rolling.

Gracie Rose
Gracie Rose finally graced us with her presence early Wednesday morning, May 7, 2008. She was born at 4:50 am weighing 9 lbs and 21 inches. Everyone is doing great from the birth and this was the last step in completing my final staff project. So check back for more photos to come as well as some multimedia in the next week or so.

Final Project Stuff
These are some of the selects from my Staff final project of DeeDee. I'm still waiting to go to the birth that she is going to be the doula/midwife for. But these are some my favorites for now and some that I think are very telling about DeeDee as a person and shows her fun loving nature and personality as a mom, a dancer and a woman.

Final Project selects
For staff class this semester, I'm working with a woman who is a doula. A Doula is like your birth coach only way more productive and knows more than your husband who might pass out. DeeDee teaches classes for expecting moms in the traditional sense as well as pre-natal belly dancing for moms who are planning to have a natural child birth.
